Got an awful scare this morning,we found a lump on Spice at about 7.30 we were both sure it wasn't there last night we rushed her to the vet as soon as they opened and it's been confirmed it's a phantom pregnancy following on from her spey!
Poor little thing is now curled up fast asleep having been prodded and stabbed with an antibiotic. We have tablets to give her twice daily from tomorrow and her check up is next Tues.
Can this sort of thing occur again? Is it a common occurance following a spey or do you think it is a ' one off' ? I did suspect her lump was due to this but it was very worrying just the same.

Must admit I've never heard of a phantom pregnancy after a spey, you learn something knew every day.

Spice is much better today! Her swelling is going down nicely,unlike the antibiotic tablets which she keeps trying to spit back at us! :D she has 4 more days on the tabs. so either we will get cleverer at administering them or she will get harder to 'catch' for us to get them down her! luckily she thinks it's a good game :D we are going to try coating one with peanut butter tonight,it's her favourite treat in her kong!
Just hoping that this isn't something that can come back again! and so glad we saw the lump so soon and got her treated!
