Just a quick question, i had my boy out for stud last week and he tried so hard that he ended up self tying himself, he has sucsefully mated before with no problems, has anyone else experienced this before with there dogs , i know this sounds silly but is there anything that can be done to prevent this happening again,
hope someone can help me with a speedy response as he is booked for stud later in the week.

Do you mean that the penis glands expanded when the dog had not entered into the bitch? If so I think you must make sure the bitch is ready for service and then make sure (by helping) that the dog is in the correct position before this happens, it is always best if the proceedings are under your control and the bitch and dogs are well supervised.

That is exactly what happened,and then he lost interest in her, as i said he is due for stud this week so will give him a helping hand
