Doreen Paige has a mink oil spray that has UVA protection It's a coat spray or there's Ring 5 mink oil spray

The coat of a black dog is actually very dark brown & when it bleaches in the sun it becomes a lighter colour

Hi Ruth.it does sound like sun bleaching or rather the ultra violet light, not much you can do now asits a preventitive thing, but if you use a very good nourishing conditioner on the feathers it will help with the dryness that causes the colour change.I used to have chocolate colour dachshunds and they were "oiled" all year round.Ialways used Mink Oil spray from Doreen Paige and found it excelent but lots of grooming companies do an equivilent.I'd start asap you should start to see a difference in a couple of weeks
good luck
Pauline
