Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Broken Leg?
- By Guest [gb] Date 01.10.04 23:26 UTC
I was up my local park the other day when a lady got knocked over by a grey houng and a lab playing.  The result of this is that she now has a broken leg she has a dog herself and has been very good about it. My question is if it was one of my dogs would i have insurance if the person got to the stage where they would want compansation? If my insurance would not pay what is there else to do as dogs like kids do like to play. Please help as my sisters G.R. can also get very close and with contact could do some damage.  It is lovely to see dogs play with there friends but not to the point where someone gets hurt. Please Help with my Question.

Hi guest I would think that the injured party could take out civil action against the dog owner. With my pet insurance i am covered third party.
hope this has helped a little regards polly_45

You may be covered third party under your household insurance policy too.

Hi If you are a member of your breed club , you could  be covered by their club insuranse ( i am a member of basset hound club an i am coverd  free through it) being a club member gives you other advantages too, such as freindship guidence and advise, you can find the address of your club from the Kennel club
