I'm thinking of getting a Nikon D70 digital camera or a Canon EOS 10D.  Does anyone have one and where did you get it from if you have? I'd appreciate any input in whether the DX lens is really worth the difference in price for the Nikon.
Thanks

Hiya, I've just got my new digi camera from www.ukdigitalcameras.co.uk - I got the Casio QV-R41 and its brilliant!!

They were really quick at dispatching too - ordered on the Monday afternoon, got confirmation that it would be with me by the Thursday on Tuesday, but it turned up on the Wednesday!!  :D

Lara, have a look at kelkoo and you can compare different prices for the camera and then find the cheapest one and take it to a store (dixons, currys that sort of place) that does price match and get it from them for alot cheaper. (Just thought id say that as my brother done it and got his camera at a really good price.)

hi Lara, we use D1x bodies here...but it all depends on your reason d'etre!!! Likewise buying the DX lenses....it really depends on why you are wanting the lens in the 1st place! The average keen amateur photographer is never going to notice the difference in quality & its only when you start doing pro work & having to deal with clients that that edge of definition is relevant. The canon v. nikon battle will go on for ever. i am Nikon camp!!! Many of my press colleagues go down the canon route as slightly cheaper...but when it comes to heavyduty work horse then Nikon is no contest for canon. I personally believe build quality and glass/image quality also superior. presumably you already have a AF 35mm body? In that case stay with the same manufacturer it will be a lot cheaper & most of your lenses will already be compatible. As for prices....dont be ripped off by high st. prices....there are excellent pro-outlets that will sell to amateurs.
