Hi all,I have a 17.5 month old Akita-inu,I have been feeding her on Royal Canin since I got her as a pup.She is now on the junior food which it says to feed untill 24 months old.But I was at a dog show last week and bought the adult giant food by mistake, just wondering if it would be ok to feed her it. Thank's.
Thank's jeangenie, was reading the RC website and they say that the junior is for building up muscle mass.Would you say that this is just a marketing ploy?
What is it with this 'building up muscle mass'? Surely when a dog is growing you want to avoid puttiing too much strain on immature joints? Why do so many breeders want to sell podgy pups? I think Burns Pet Nutrition speak common sense when they say a slow steady growth is the way to go. Their puppy foods are lower in protein but very digestible. Our retriever is doing great on Burns. Talk to their nutritionists who are very helpful. There's a free helpline (0800 083 66 96)
