Our Cavalier bitch gave birth to 7 pups 16 days ago and everything has been going really well. But over the last 48 hours she has been refusing meals and this morning she has eaten nothing. Giving her chicken, rice and her usual complete food which she has eaten up until now. All the pups have tripled in size but surely her milk supply will be affected along with her appetite. They are all contented at the minute.
Can anyone please give any advise?
Taking her to the vets this evening if things don't improve.

I would feel much happier talking to the vet about the problem - she could be harbouring an infection.

Is she ok in herself?  around this time eclampsia can happen, if you have any worries at all, speak to your vet!
