Hi,

I have a beautiful Staffie bitch (9 weeks).  Absolutely gorgeous but will chew on you when you stroke her or pay any attention to her.  She also chases my kids and launches herself at them.  Several holes later and kids are retreating onto the sofa, lol.  Hoping she'll grow out of it.  She is very good with commands, sit, down etc.  Seems well ahead of herself on toilet training too.  So I'm well pleased with her but just wish I knew what to about chewing on us.  Have tried offering treats if she comes to me without biting, which works.  But when it comes to kids she doesn't seem to hear me.  The only effective thing so far is to bang a rolled up newspaper on the floor, which does get her attention.

Hi,

Thanks candie,  she knows the word no already, bless her.  I've said it enough.  Hopefully she will grow out of it.  I wouldn't change her though.  First Staffie I have owned and I feel really blessed to have her, lovely little thing.

hey. i had same prob with my pup indie.  she used to nip all the time and it bloody hurt!
After alot of advice from people, we found ignoring her worked best.  So the minute she started nipping when playing, we would jus ignore her, or put her in the hallway by herself for 2 minutes.  This taught her that playtime was over if she did that.  She soon calmed down.  And even tho shes 5 months now, and still grabs ur sleeves and stuff, we jus stick sumin more appropriate in her mouth like a tug toy.
