my 14 month old Westie has really started to smell.  I bath him every couple of weeks in a shampoo from the vet due to skin problem but by the time he is due for his bath he stinks.  He does like to roll in the grass and dig in the mud, so could this be the cause.  Also he has the habit of licking his paws consstantly, for hours, I tell him to stop, distract him etc but as soon as Im not looking he is off again.  Could the 2 be conected?

Yes your dog may have a food allergy or yeast overgrowth which will cause licking and can cause a smell.
