Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / Yorkie Barking Problem

My Yokie is 1 year old and he is a barker!  He baks at the cat, barks at the postie barks when there is a knock or a bang goes running in whatever direction bark barking. He wont take a telling off, if it is in the day its not so bad but at 3am in our terraced house I cringe for our neighbours!

Anyone got any advice on how to stop this or at least cut it down?

It is not unusual for Yorkies to do this. I have found that most Yorkies that I know do this. Try buying a chlorophyll collar. But they are a bit expensive. Just try telling her off whenever she barks. But you have to be persistant, dont give up after a week!!!
Hope it helps,

If you shout at your dog you are joining in; completely pointless!

I'm going to try this, Millie isn't an excessive barker, but she is a territorial barker, more so at night and every car or person that goes past at midnight gets howled and barked at from our hallway and in our little row of terraces I'm sure we aren't the only one getting earache!
