Hello, I'm having trouble grooming the fur around Cree's (my GSD's) hind legs and tail.  She is long haired, the rest of her coat is lovely, really easy to keep tangle free but the hair on the tops of her hind legs is really thick and wirey (especially on her right side as this is the side she favours when she sits down).  Have tried dampening her fur in this area with a water spray which does make combing and brushing easier but when the fur is dry again it is really hard to comb/brush.  The last time she went to be bathed at the grooming parlour they used a thinning comb/scissors to thin down the hair in this area which did make it easier to manage but was wondering if anybody can recommend any sprays or anything I can use that will stop her fur being so frizzy and dry.  To groom her I use a wide toothed comb, a slicker brush and one of those brushes with metal bristles that look like pin heads (sorry, not a very good description).  She is usually brushed every other day but lately she has been getting a good brush every evening due to all the mud she has been bringing home from walks :) .  Would be grateful for any suggestions.  :)
Thanks Freya :)

perhaps it is dead dry fur.....perhaps stripping it dowm would help ...or perhaps a mars coat king would be good
