My friend's whippet sadly died recently. She is understandably upset. For the last 17 years she has always had a dog. She is now looking for an other whippet. It does not have to be a pup but she does have a cat. What about whippet rescue?  I am not sure about rescue in your area but I know that in the south there are always lots of whippets crying out for homes, just a thought.
