Hi ww, so gld to see that you have managed to stay perky. Do you know I was thinking of suggesting that if you were keen to continue breeding that you might consider moving - but thought that was a bit too drastic to actually post!! I do hope your new place brings you better luck.

Thanks Westie - Lover
We have a long way to go yet, but 98% sure we got the mortgage so the rest should just be a formality now .

STILL NO RESULTS!!
I can just see whats coming here!, yet again everything will come back negative, this seems to be worse as you can never really understand what caused it.

Hi ww, did you see Jo Flatcoats post on the Health board - post is named: CRUD - its now on page 2, and been to the link that is on the message. It may be worth printing it off and showing it to your vet?
- By Westiworld [us] Date 22.04.02 17:52 UTC
Hi WL , THANKYOU AGAIN, I have printed it off, also sent an e mail to k9 gang, I will be in touch with vets in the morning. The symptons sound spot on, also they got worse after drip, and were given Amoxycillin ( i think) vet did treat for parvo although I told him it wasn't.
I'm angry yet a little relieved, I just hope a test can still be done to be sure!

Hi all
Mums back to her playful energetic self again, I know things could have been worse, if anything ever happened to any of my adult dogs, I don't think I would ever get over it!
Still no results and not likely to get anything now, the vets keep saying they havn't come back yet but they are still examining the sample. Too late to test for crud i think too! as sample was watery with blood!
If I ever get any mucus signs again though it will be tested straight away.
Thanks again everybody for your support.

VET UPDATE
having spoken to the vet today, regarding poss c section, he is still convinced that the puppy problem is parvo and recommends injections for parvo at 6 weeks, even though the tests came back negative for parvo!
I hope he is right because we cannot move house for another 4 to 5 weeks now, so I am a little worried!! , cos we are expecting pups sees c section or not? ok a lot worried.

As far as I know Parvo only stays in the faeces for a short time & a faeces test needs to be done fairly soon, this could be why the test is negative. A blood titre will tell you as to whether or not they have had parvo& its not expensive. Once again, the information from Glasgow Uni. is that the virus can remain in the area for up to a year & they advice not to have any pups in the area where the parvo was for a year. You can ring them & ask their advice directly, they are extremely helpful.

Thanks christine, we have used 100 litres of parvo virucide since our last litter, so we can only hope that it is enough! Why is moving house so difficult, we are no moving to North Lincs, because the last one fell through (again) Do you have a telephone no for glasgow?
- By Christine Date 26.06.02 10:33 UTC
Hi WW, here is the web site:-
http://www.gla.ac.uk/faculties/vet/diagnostics/companion/index.htm
although it may be better to just put glasgow diagnostic services into your search engine!
Tel no. 0141 330 5777
Try & get hold of Hal Thompson or Dianne Addy.
They can also titre your dam & work out a vax programme for her pups. I think they do this by working out the antibodies passed to the pups from dam & working out how long the pups will have antibodies.
Good luck
