hi all

got an email off a friend today that is expecting pups next week (21st)
she has not been checking her temp or anything like that but she thinks her bitch is going to go early cos today she was stroking her belly and there was milk dripping for her back teats.  is this a sign that she will go in the next few days or do u lot think she will go the distance??
there are 9 days left and this bitch is massive,

Natalie
ps i am only asking cos i have never know a bitch to have milk more then 3 days before

Dont know really.

Ive never bred a bitch, but I believe (and im sure ill be corrected if wrong) that bitches will do that anyway, when in season and pregnant.

I dont think its a sign that she'll go early.

I have a veterinary textbook in which it records a bitch who nursed a couple of orphan puppies when she was 7 weeks pregnant.  So it is quite usual for milk to be present 2 weeks before the due date.  One of my bitches had milk that ran down her stomach when she sat and looked at me.  This happened from about 10 days before she was due (yet funnily enough her milk supply wasn't particularly good when the litter was born).
