My Dog is on Dry Complete food and ocasionally will eat Prepared dog meat (PC), I have in both Pedigree Chum puppy food dry and tinned ,What would be best ? And is this to early to start ? Any advice welcome!

Hi Rachel, when I start weaning my pups (at three weeks) I start them the first day with a teaspoon of scraped beef. For this, get a nice piece of steak and run the blade of a knife across the flat side, to produce a meaty pulp. This is safe for puppies because it has no stringy bits for them to choke on. The single teaspoon is enough for the first day (although each pup usually falls on it like a starving wolf) - too much at first can cause constipation. The next day I will give it twice, the third day three times, then I start to gradually up the quantities. If you are going to use a commercial puppy food, make sure the dried food is thoroughly soaked and mashed to a paste to start off with.

Hope this helps.
