A reputable breeder will not home two puppies to the same home.  Two puppies is not just twice the work of one, it's nearer three, and this is the reason that breeders wanting the best for their pups will not do it.  Your best bet would be to get one pup, socialise and train it for 18 months to 2 years, until you have a lovely family dog, then get another puppy - your work will be a lot less, as the older dog will help (with assistance from you) to teach the pup all he needs to know ;)

You will probably have a hard job finding any King Charles Spaniels at all, because they are quite a rare breed, unlike their more popular 'cousin' the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Besides that, it is unwise to have two puppies at the same time, and very few breeders will sell into a home where there is already a pup, and are almost guaranteed not to sell two together.

do king charles come in Rubies ??? thought that was just the cavalier that came in wholecolour.......... any one know If i'm wrong....

They come in exactly the same colours.  In fact the Cavalier type was resurected from the Charlies as it had nearly disappered, but now outnumbers them in popularity and numbers.

Er Actually the Cavalier is how the Blenheim & English Toy Spaniel used to look like before the Vistorians bred them with the short forface as they liked little dogs to look"human"

The Blenheim spaniels were always tan(ruby)& white & were originally bred by the Churchills on their Blenheim estate for retireving/flushing Woodcock. The ones with the Lozenze mark wer the ladies dogs & those without the gentlemens

The English Toy Spaniels were the Tria colours, Rubies & Black & Tans that belonged to the ladies & gentlemen( & Royalty)of the court. They were popular as a dual purpose Lap & Hunting dog from the 1500's

The rise of the Churchill family to favouritizm with the King's & Quuen's led to the two breeds becoming one. Both the King Charles always had them with them as did most of the monarchs

In the 1920's an american came to Crufts & was appalled not to be able to find the King Charles as they looked in the old portraits with longer muzzles & different heads. He offered a prize for the best dog that looked pre Victoria & the rest is history The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was born

They are totally different in character the cavaliers are must more "open"& outgoing with all people whereas Charlies can be "thinkers". You either like KCS or you don't I think they are nice dogs but don't like the lack of muzzle length & domed heads

The Parti colours in KCS are allowed fleking in the white wereas in the Cavalier it is not desireable & the Cavalier is no longer docked but some KCS are & some aren't The Cavalier is a bigger dog & as everyone else has said much more common

They do come in all the colours, but me being me I love the Blenheims as no two are every totally alike unlike the solids & the Tris have to have the Tan in designated areas
