We are looking to buy a Bavarian Mountain Hound bitch puppy, would anyone know where I could get one from.  Also my daughter wants a welsh terrier or minature airdale if anyone knows where she can get one from.  Many thanks

Hi there are breeders of Welsh Terriers and Airedale terriers here. There is no such breed as a miniature airedale though, and I don't know if there are any Bavarian Mountain Hounds in the UK. Have you tried googling for them?

I think that there are a few in the UK, predominantly in the hands of deer stalkers. I'd suggest a bit of detective work; Try writing to the Gundog editors for shooting magazines, as they may have interviewed their owners in the past. Try contacting the BASC (British Association of Shooting and Conservation) I've got a feeling (I could be mistaken!) that one of their stalking experts owns the breed. Also, some of the Game Fairs have tents devoted to exhibiting the different sporting breeds, these may also be worth a look although you may need to wait until next year for this.
