Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Green Tripe

Hi,

When we go and stay with family, my dog refuses to eat. He plays with the kids, and gets excited. He hardley sleeps, drinks, or eats. Ive recentley started adding Green Tripe into his food , which he adores.

Is this ok to feed on its own for a couple of days? Ive tried everthing, chicken wings (wont touch, only at home will he eat them), fresh meat etc. He'll just have a sniff and walk away.

Any ideas on how to get him eating whilst in someone elses home, would be great.

Oh, he's a terrier BTW. If he was a hound, I would be having problems stopping him eating  :D

Thanks :D

Tripe is fine on its own for a few days.

How to get him eating?

Don't offer him anything, until he is starving.

thome,

Im thinking that I may not feed him the night before we go away, or the morning either. Maybe that way he will get so hungry he'll eat. The only problem with that is im too soft with him  I know if he's hungry I couldnt bare to starve him. ;)

but if he is not eating he is obviously not hungry enough.............. therefore you are not actually starving him are you?

Thats thrue :)

He must be hungry whilst away though. As he normally drops some weight and he's generally quite lean anyway :(
