At a guess, they will be pekinese/poodle cross breeds
- By Moonmaiden Date 17.09.04 09:03 UTC
Spot on Melodysk all the sites I've seen look like commerical enterprises in the US<sigh>the latest in designer expensive X breeds

On the basis of some posts on this site I am thinking of purchasing 3 male poodles as stud dogs (one of each size).

I'll let them be used on whatever random breed is brought along. I'm sure we could come up with some fantastic combinations!

My only selection criteria will be that show winning, health tested, KC reg poodle bitches will NOT be accepted. (I doubt that their owners would pay the exhorbitant stud fee I'm going to charge!)

Can anyone tell me where I can get hold of these poodle dogs urgently? I am anxious to commence my lucrative scheme as soon as possible!   ;-)

- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 17.09.04 09:29 UTC
I imagine you'll be wanting rare non-standard coloured ones?
;)
- By Moonmaiden Date 17.09.04 09:37 UTC
That goes without saying tri coloured would be my favourute ;)
- By Havoc [gb] Date 17.09.04 09:49 UTC
Excellent idea!!!

How about a tri-colour, a lemon roan and an albino??!!

Someone must know of some poodles available? I dont need them to have health-tested parents, cos I sure-as-heck won't waste any money on testing them! (By the time the resulting pups develop any problems I will have retired abroad on the stud fees! :-) :-) )

Well I'm going to breed 'teacup' pups from all the breeds currently available - you want a 'teacup' Great Dane/ Leonberger or Borzoi then I'll be your man - I'll sue anyone who say's that they're just premature underfed runts - after all all those Americans can't be wrong ! :-D :-D :-D

Yup, its the designer dog again that gets them every time :(

The poo's seem to be in real big demand...People just don't realize they are paying pretty much the same prive as they would for a well bred purebred...They think they are getting the best of both worlds, when in reality they are getting a puppy who's parents can never be tested so may end up with juvinile cateracts, slipping knee's ect at such a wee age. Not only that a KINDER SURPRISE because once they are crossed you really don't know what parent/parents they are gonna take after. Or how about their tempermant...Its these people that want these breeds that cause puppy mills and store puppies and alot of BYB who really don't give a hoot as long as they are making that buck at the dogs and knew owners expense...But hey what do I no :(

Got a lot of poo crosses not to mention Boston/Pug, Border Collie/Jack russle (heard these make great agilty/flyball dogs)  :( Whats next

To even make a purebred would takes years to perfect the breed and to work out all the faults....

Well. I think that all these 'poo' dogs are going to need 'shelter'.  (Sheltie/Terrier) They will also need 'shampoo' (Shar-pei/Am Cocker/Poodle) in order to get cleaned :D
- By Moonmaiden Date 18.09.04 19:05 UTC

Pointer + Setter = Pointsetter, a traditional Christmas pet.
Kerry Blue Terrier + Skye Terrier = Blue Skye, a dog for visionaries.
Great Pyrenees + Dachshund = Pyradachs, a puzzling breed.
Pekinese + Lhasa Apso = Peekasso, an abstract dog.
Irish Water Spaniel + English Springer Spaniel = Irish Springer, a dog fresh and clean as a whistle.
Labrador Retriever + Curly Coated Retriever = Lab Coat Retriever, the choice of research scientists.
Newfoundland + Basset Hound = Newfound Asset Hound, a dog for financial advisors.
Terrier + Bulldog = Terribull, a dog that makes awful mistakes.
Bloodhound + Labrador = Blabrador, a dog that barks incessantly.
Malamute + Pointer = Moot Point, owned by... oh, well, it doesn't matter anyway.
Collie + Malamute = Commute, a dog that travels to work.

There must be more!!! :)
