Topic Dog Boards / General / Staff Rescue?
- By Lily Mc [gb] Date 16.09.04 13:54 UTC
Hi folks,

Have just had a call from OH, he has a colleague at work who apparently needs to get rid of his 18 month old Staff 'now' as it's growled at his girlfriend.

Does anyone have a contact for Staff welfare around Heathrow area, as apparently he's taking it to the dogs home tomorrow ........

God, that makes me so mad! One of my girls was from Staff rescue, apparently she had done something similar and she is the sweetest thing in the world.  I imagine she had been taunted to the point where she'd had enough.
Anyway, try this South Eastern Counties Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue
Fred & Beryl Walker, Essex. Tel: 01268 523537.
Hope she will get a good new home :)

Not looking good for breed rescue, unfortunately - just spoke to Mrs Walker, they believe their rescue kennels are full to bursting (lots of young dogs) and no room available - and would be dubious anyway as he's growled and they would be liable if they re-homed him and he subsequently bit.

Don't know any more than what it says below, so don't know if he would be a real threat or not.

Looks like he might have to go to the general dogs home - don't get the impression this chap would make the effort to take him far anyway. :(  At least they haven't just abandoned him, that's the one small bright point.

That is such a shame :(
How about either of these:
Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue/Rehoming
Mrs J Mason, Hove, East Sussex. Tel: 01273 418081
John & Gwen Laker, Canterbury, Kent. Tel: 01227 471647

I don't know if these would be too far away, but I think it would be so much better for him to go to a proper Staffie rescue rather than the general dogs home.

Yes, that's what I thought too, but the lady I spoke to didn't sound hopeful.  Still, have passed on the number for John Laker, that's all I can really do for the moment.
