i am interested in becoming a breeder, but would like to know the advantages and limitations of becoming one.

What breed were you considering? The advantages and disadvantages vary. One major disadvantage is that breeders and stud dog owners are likely to find themselves being sued if the puppies they produce have certain hereditary conditions. Another is that it is costly - if you break even financially you are doing well.

I always thought if you broke even financially then you were probably doing something wrong:-)
