Hi - as most of you (;) ) wilknow by now, our "old lady" Purdey is 14 and a half year old lab. She is rather wobblyon her back legs now, but in herself is bright, eats well, and is hapy to come on 2 out of 3 walks, both mornings and evenings. She has spent most of the summer days lying in the sun (when weather has permitted), otherwise she has pride of place in our sitting room, in the corner, out of drafts, out of the way of pesky lab pups and awfully-mannered aussies (unless allowed by her :D ) with the best view of TV, fire, etc etc etc.
I'm thinking ahead to the winter, which we seem to be approaching fast. We took her rigid bed away at the end end of last winter, as she seemed to be sleeping on it, rather than in it - one leg or haunch sometimes seemed to be stuck on it, with the consequence that she had difficulty getting up. She has two 13.5 tog sinngle duvets, folded up, as her bed, with a piece of vetbed underneath it all (floor is tiled). I'm aware that as she gets older, she moves around less, and I'm afraid of her loosing body heat through inactivity - so I've already told OH that we'll have to keep CH on full time, at a low heat to keep her from getting chilled - but has anyone any alternative suggestions for bed/bedding to keep her warm & comfortable in her old age?
Thanks
Margot
