My cats will be going into a cattery for the first time soon and of course im going to take all of their belongings so they feel right at home ... scratching post, bed, toy box ...... a supply of mice and birds to keep them entertained  (ok so maybe not the last one !!)  Anyway, as kittens they both snuggled into their little wicker basket together but now even one of them has trouble getting into it, its not so much of a problem at home because they have their radiator bed, plus my bed, the dogs bed or the sofa to sleep on, but at the cattery they arent both going to have all that so I thought I had better get them a new bed.  I want one thats really comfy, like those doughnut ones but it needs to be of a modern look to fit in with my decor at home ( ), as in beige/cream/brown possiby fluffy or hairy (you know what I mean :P ) I was wondering if anyone knew of any good websites because I have been looking for the past hour and cant find anything remotely suitable :(

Tarquin and Delilah would really appreciate your help :)

I don't know if you have found a cat bed yet, but I typed in (fluffy cat beds) and came up with a lot of sites this is one of them www.thecatsshop.co.uk

And i bet you any money after you've searched , ordered and paid for this bed , managed to squeeze it into the car and have arranged it nicely in the cat pen at the cattery......they don't even sleep in it , but curl up together on an old jumper of yours that you've taken along as a comforter from home!!!!!!
Trust me , have worked in a cattery for nearly 7 years and this always happens - in fact sometimes i could swear the cats do it on purpose!!! Have a great holiday and im sure Tarquin and Delilah will have a fun time too!!

That would be soooo typical  They sleep on beds at home when they are shut out of the main rooms if im out, mostly their radiator bed and the little bed thingy on their scratching post but when im home they sleep everywhere but

Im having to drive a fair way for their cattery because all the decent local ones were fully booked, to be honest im not totally happy with it they didnt seem to care that they didnt have the right food in stock and said they would just feed them something else and that it wouldnt hurt for a week  so im taking their dry food, tins of salmon and tuna, and im also cooking them some chicken and white fish and freezing it - all at no discount :(  but the place looked clean and safe and the people seemed to love animals so hopefully they will be ok.

I cant believe they didnt bother about the food not being the same - well done for taking your own! At the cattery ( and kennels ) where i work we feed exactly what the animal is fed at home , sometimes even a change in flavour can upset their tummies. As with the no discount with taking own food ; to be honest with you the cattery probably buys in bulk , we find that the food makes up such a small percentage of the day to day running costs that we only occasionally give a discount for stays of about a month or more.
But if the place is clean and safe , as you say it is , and the people obviously love the animals then im sure they'll have a wonderful time! Let us know how they got along when you get back.  Have a lovely holiday too!!!

The Kennels and Cattery actually have their own shop so I assume everything is brought in bulk. Im not overly happy about leaving them there but as I said it seemed safe and the people seemed nice enough - I just hope their new bed arrives in time :D
