Can anyone give me any help with a stroppy bredder who insists my papers are on the way. I got my staff pup 6weeks ago and still no papers, rung Kennel Club who say breeder hasnt registered the litter??? :O(

All I can suggest is that, providing you have evidence in writing that the pup would be KC registered, you contact either Trading Standards or a solicitor. Good luck.

Hi Jean,
I have a hand written receipt from the 'breeder' and a hand written bloodline 'pedigree' we have sent both to Trading Standards and they say he can be done for 'a misleading advertisment, fraud & obtaining monies by deception' the name of the sire on the bloodline isn't the actuall father of our puppy, we found this out when I rang the Kennel Club to chase the papers up and they asked for the KC number of the sire. We rang the owner of the sire, who the breeder claimed was his brother in law and the owner of the sire said 'my dog hasn't serviced the breeders bitch for over a year'. It was then that the alarm bells rang...very bloody loudly...lol...yes, we have been very naive, hasty and stupid...and are quickly learning the hard way...but on a brighter note, the puppy is a lovely pup, well behaved & has a great temperment, shame she hasn't got papers.
Oh well, here's hoping the Trading Standards people will come good and get us a part refund or paperwork for our puppy???
You could take action against them in the civil court to recover your money (or a percentage of it). It sounds to me like there are no papers...

sounds to me like no papers too, so its a case for the Trading Standards, would be nice to hear from someone if they have had simalar experience...oh well, fingers are crossed

It probably happens a lot with these kind of people relying on the new owners forgetting al about the papers, or not wanting to be fussed to take it further.

It's in the hands of court now, we issued papers to the 'breeder' on the 7th Sept, they have 21 days to reply now, if they don't the judgement gets awarded in our favour, then the next step is to recover some money, this is where a bailif comes into the picture....fingers crossed we get a result...

As this is now a matter for the courts, I will close this thread.
