When our rover estate lock went wrong on the drivers side,a kind gentleman offered to climb in through the rear door, the other doors didn't actually have locks due to the central locking system and how rovers are made on some models

Unfortunately he set off the interior alarm sensors by climbing through the rear and because it was all tied into the locking system and key on the drivers side, not only was I unable to drive the car off because the immobiliser kicked in,but I was now sitting in a car with alarm sounding off every few minutes, luckily the aa arrived sooner than anticipated,he did something with the lock, using a very important tool,A SCREWDRIVER! and said 'there you go madam,it will get you home, but don't stop off on the way home and get the lock and security system sorted by a garage a.s.a.p.'
Not cheap I can tell you! but funny now looking back on it!
