
The only place that scissors should be used on Cavaliers is ti trim the pad hair under the foot, however some dogs do have very long slippers(foot feathers) & trimming these in a pet makes sense. One of my show dogs has 2 inch long slippers.
Clipping does make the cost go woolly & a friend who grooms for a living will never clip a cavalier she is trying to get a cavalier's coat back to some sort of normality. She has to use loads of condition both wash out & leave in. She's now trying Quistel & the owner uses the spray daily & it looks like it might be working
My show dogs get normal grooming in between shows & the day before shows they get a full bath & leave in conditioner & are popped into a drycoat. The coats seem to make the coats more silky as well as flatten now the coat & stopping it getting messed up when the boys sleep upside down
The oldest boy gets quistel lotion ever day because in summer he has always lost his tummy coat in the summer
