We bought a staffi bitch out of Loot, paid £450 for her, the 'breeder' told us his application form to register the litter was on way to the Kennel Club and we would get our paper work within 10days...7weeks later, the breeder is never in, his stroppy wife is thou, claiming the paperwork is on its way, but we still have no paperwork. We know he is a registered breeder, because the KC number for the Dam and Sire both come up with the Kennel Club, but the Kennel Club say he hasn't even asked for an application form, the liter was born in May!
We bought this puppy to breed her, my brother-in-law bought a dog at the same time, he is all white and ours is black with a white bib, he got his paperwork thru within 6days but were still waiting...can anyone offer any advice?and does anyone know why this man would purposely do this?

I'm very sorry to tell you that this is a very common tale. By the sound of it you have been ripped off. Have you got anything in writing (a copy of the advertisement, details on your receipt etc) that says the puppy would be KC registered? If so you could contact Trading Standards. If you haven't anything in writing, then there is no come-back I'm afraid.

You have a lovely puppy (although expensive for an unregistered one) - she's still your pet. But without registration she will never be a breeding bitch. I'm sorry. As for why the man purposely did this - because he can. I doubt if it's the first time, and unless everybody he cons makes a fuss and goes to law, he will carry on doing it.
