Hi , my Bonnie is due to whelp tomorrow she is a YT . she has refused food since yeterday morning . This morning she still refusing food,
Had a couple of tempts at digging just for a few seconds here and there .Some times I just think she is getting comfy but other times I think no its def digging.
Do I take it she is in Whelp now ?and that it could be soon or could it be a long weekend for me . I supose I should stay close and keep my 'book the bithch' to hand .

I think tonight could be Dottie's night also. She won't eat. Temp is 99.2 this morning. yelped a couple of times like somethings going on down there. i know she'll be a screamer. She yelps if you take her temp ! still no panting. Her mom whelped during the day. wouldn't that be nice :))
Had one pup at 3.30pm today only one all is well..It was a girl!! She wont let anyone nr them !
cheers rach
its important that your bitch allows you to handle the pup. Dont stand for it! My girl growled at me a couple of times and I said No! very firmly. Dont let her get away with bad behaviour at this early stage or you could have problems later.
good luck and congratulations on your new baby! :)
just got the dog to go out for a wee, got her lead out and she was there waiting to go out. so i took her in the back garden on alead and she went. I walked her out of my bac gate and into front just 30 second walk. When we got back I thought she was going really rough with the pup . I knew shes be protective but that scared me a little. had to tell her to be gentle, But both are now cuddled together. So at least I know what to do get her to go out . Am I doing the right thing ?

Yes you are. :) It is vital that she goes out to relieve herself three or four times a day, and at this stage mine have always needed to be put on a lead and physically dragged. The moment she's weed and pooed let her off to run back to her baby. And yes, they do appear to be very rough, rolling the pups over and nudging them about. But pups are surprisingly tough and are designed to be able to withstand this natural behaviour.
