HI I'VE JUST BOUGHT A DALMATION PUPPY, SHE WILL BE 9 WEEKS ON SUNDAY.  I'VE BEEN TRYING HER ON DIFFERENT FOODS, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT KIND OF FOOD IS BEST TO FEED A DALMATION PUPPY.

Didnt the breeder tell you what food????? As the best food to feed her on is the food the breeder has fed her on. If they havnt, ring them and ask them. If you cant, put her on which ever good quality food you wish and stick to it. As chopping and changing food is no good for adults let alone puppies.
Any of the higher range foods are good. Do a search. I used Eukanuber, but there alot around with both good and bad reports.

Why are you trying her on different foods? You will just upset ehr stomach. What did the breeder tell you to feed her...you would be better to stick with that for the foreseeable future. If you weren't given a diet sheet then she needs to be on puppy food and she needs four meals a day at the moment. JeanGenie will be on soon and she can advise you on the best diet for your new pup - good luck :)

Feed her, at least for the next two weeks, on what the breeder was feeding her. Then you can gradually change (taking about 2 weeks over it) to whatever suits you better - if you need to change at all. What was the breeder feeding her? (You will have been given a diet sheet - it's a Kennel Club requirement.)

the pups are registered,

breeder was feeding on bakers complete puppy foor and pedigree pouches, i continued this but the vet advised me to mix the food with some carbohydrates like pasta and potatoes.

I have replied to your feeding query. I don't mean to be rude, what you are feeding her now (from what you say on that thread) is appalling. Please, for her sake, feed her better. :( :(

I wonder if she's on the thin side, perhaps thats why the vet suggested adding carbs to her diet - can't imagine a vet suggesting replacing her main diet with potatoes an pasta though!!

I think probably the vet's suggestion has been misunderstood, and the diet has gone too far the other way. Maybe the vet suggested adding some potato or other carbohydrate to the Pedigree pouches, not have them as a meal in themselves.
