Out of the six you have mentioned I would go with Willow, its a lovely name and not too common JMO.  Hope you can all agree on a name soon :D.  Enjoy your puppy when she arrives.

I think Willow sounds lovely too-very....  whats the word to describe it...  Graceful?  Just hope your wee pup doesn't turn out to be a tear-away renegade! :D

We tend to shorten names....do you think she'll mind being called Will?    I quite like Lily.

As wheatens are an Irish breed why not choose a name with irish connections. Like Maeve, Niamh, though Willow would be my choice other than that.

lilly and ruby are nice but I prefer shauna or shauni my puppy collie is called shauni.but wheaton terriers are a willow colour anyway .thanks kirsty

I've got a Ruby and a rabbit called Willow, who is beautiful, so I'd go with that! :)
She ends up being Willy most of the time, poor thing :D

Having owned a wheaten in the past, I would suggest :-

Maddie

Loopy
Dippy
Battie

Thanks guys!! I just have to convince my brothers to call her willow. :) But I totally agree with you Joyce and I think that any of those name would defiantly suite a barmy wheaten!!!! :D :D :D

The affix was Amonite - the breeder lives up in Yorkshire.  Who are you getting your puppy from ?
- By wheaten_mad [gb] Date 02.09.04 14:12 UTC
We are getting a Calvenace puppy this time. But weve got Emalot dollydaydream and we did have Kilculley Anything goes but sadly she has died now. :(

Aren't dogs supposed to respond better to names which end in an -ie sound?  Something to do with one's voice becoming higher pitched.  That could be nonsense, my pup's called Cashie and he only responds when he feels like it :-)

I like Roxy and Ruby
- By wheaten_mad [gb] Date 02.09.04 14:17 UTC
Yeah, i heard that. It definatly helped when we had dogs called Rosie, Bridie and lizzie if you shouted them in the field they would lift thier heads up.

I think that's a bit of a myth.  Some of the dogs names at work are so random and obscure, and not that many end in an -y sound.  And they still all answer to their names :D
- By wheaten_mad [gb] Date 02.09.04 14:51 UTC
Yeah it probably is nonsense I actually think that is selective hearing!! :D
