Hi, I'm the person who originally posted the topic 'Help... pregnant bitch not eating!'... I have tried to register on this site, but for some reason it won't let me!
Kerioak- thanks for your reply, I too am worried about the waters breaking as it was 28hrs ago now & still no sign! Well I can only guess it was the waters as she had just been let out for a wee, then I left her for only a minute whilst I went to add more paper to her bed & when I came back there was a massive puddle, at first I thought it was another wee, but it was clear and didn't smell! The vet said it would have been the waters too, but she did not seem worried! Well the pups are still moving which is a good sign & she is ok in herself, though today she has spent most of the day hiding in my bedroom (her 2nd nest. The one she has chosen) whereas yesterday & the day before she was very clingy. I just hope she doesn't have to wait much longer!
Thanks again Alice.

Unfortunately, the 'average' Vet knows very little about normal whelping.  Of course there are always exceptions.  Generally, they are great for unzipping if necessary but having spoken recently to a newly qualified Vet, she had never seen a normal whelping!!
I too would be concerned if the waters had broken and there were still no sign of contractions.  Maybe your bitch's breeder would be able to advise????  This is where a mentor in the breed is soooo important.  There are many here who would be happy to help, but it's difficult when we can't see the bitch or the situation.
Fingers crossed for you and your girl.
