Hi

Guess the subject says it all, can you go in handling classes with a dog that is on the Import Register, after all its the handler being judged not the dog, does anyone know the answer.

Don't know the answer but I handled my aussies in JH when they were still an import!  THough normally I was handling a border collie!!!!!!  No I wasn't, when I handle a border collie I handle a dog with a tail!!!!!  lol, but theres no problems with Imported dogs in junior handling apart from some stupid judges may think your handling a crossbreed....I don't know how that works BUT....lol

I didn't think that imports were allowed to be entered in anything but Import Register classes?  As they're not allowed into any other side of showing ie stakes classes I didn't think that they were allowed in juniour handling either.  Wd. love to hear from someone in the know :d

I thought as long as the dog was entered somewhere in the show then it could be shown in junior handeling

I know that at the moment there are 2 girls showing Bergamascoes in Junior handling and doing very well - I seem to think they even qualified for the YKC handling at crufts this year (although YKC handling has now been opened up for cross-breeds as well at YKC events). A few years ago another import was shown in JH and I think competed and placed at Richmond - so it has been done, although not sure what the rules are regarding it!
