I have a new pup (9 weeks) and he seems to be getting on well with my other dog who is 18 months old. When do you think it will be safe to let them sleep together? The pup is in a crate next to Taz at the moment, but it seems a pitty to keep them away from each other.

I'd wait a few weeks - this may be the 'honeymoon' period and when the older dog realises the pup is here to stay, the attitude may change....... The crate next door to the older dog is a great idea, and you'll probably find that one day you just forget to lock the door...
We have a 15 week old pup, and an older bitch - we have only this week started to let them sleep toghether - before that the pup was crated (though in the same room) We still crate the pup when we leave the house though - just incase though, our two do get on brilliantly - if anything were to happen and I was asleep upstairs I could get to them very quickly but won't leave them together when i'm not in the house , mainly due to their size difference at the moment - the bitch could inadverantly hurt him just by sitting on him etc
HTH :)
