I was in town this afternoon looking for someone who had got lost. They'd never been in Kirriemuir before. If you ever get there you'll see why they were lost! Anyway, some people I know stopped me and asked if my bosses dog was alright. Eh? I hadn't a clue what they were talking about so I popped in to ask. It seems that her male CKCS was sitting just outside the shop (It's in a pedestrian precinct) when a car suddenly appeared. It stopped, the driver looked at the dog - and ran him over!

He then reversed

Of course the dog squealed, my boss ran out and the guy said "oh, did I run him over? I thought he'd move." He then swore at my boss before walking away, leaving the car sitting there!
Last I heard the dog is at the vets, with a drip in. He was too sore for the vet to check him out, so they were sedating him to get a better luck.
I just hope I don't ever find out who did it, as I don't think I'd be able to keep quiet.

OMG thats awful! I hope he took the 'drivers' number and told the police, he should be punished!
Hope the dog will be ok

My boss has had a run-in with this bloke before. He's not very nice. Yes the number was taken and my boss was on her way round to the police station as soon as she had settled down. Her nerves are a bit shaken.

Had he been drinking or anything ?
Hope hes been reported to the police and hope this poor dog is ok :(
As far as I'm aware he hadn't been drinking - my boss would have noticed it. She helps out at a night club every now and then. I'll let you know how the poor dog is as soon as I hear anything.

OMG :( That awful
Oh my god, that's terrible!!!!

What a horrible man he should be locked up and banned from keeping animals cause he obviously doesn't care about other peoples!!

That's awful! :( Horrid man.

Poor dog - and poor boss.

Beyond contempt

What a truly wicked world we live in :(

How could anyone do that?

What a terrible world we live in. I hope the little doggy's ok.
My thoughts go out to your boss and the poor little dog, it amazes me how some people can sleep at night knowing what evil acts they do unto others
please keep us all informed on the dogs progress
regards polly_45
At the very least he should be made to pay the vet bill. The police can trace him from his car registration.

maybe some one should run over him! i hope every thing is ok pass on our best wishes to your boss,we hope her dog makes a full recovery.i hope this man gets what her deserves. :-(
I've just spoken to my boss. Shane(the dog) has dislocated both of his hips, but there is no further damage. He has to kept in a sling at the vets for the next 2-3 days. If his hips stay put he will be allowed home. If they don't he will have to be pinned.
The police have been informed and are looking into it. They may have it on CCTV. I hope so.
Apparently the man (?) in question tried to attack my boss a while ago. He has also been charged with assaulting a local man recently, so he is known to the police.

Poor dog. I sincerely hope the police can charge him with something over this.

what about the RSPCA bringing a case against him?
give them a ring and find out if it is possible,or court case for vet bills and stress that it has caused.i would try and get some thing done for him to pay the price for his actions regarding the dog.
Shane died this morning. He had to undergo an operation to have a pin put into one of his hips and didn't come out of the anaesthetic.
We still don't know what the police are doing about it, they haven't been in touch yet. I think that there may be a few people who might do something privately though. Judging by the reaction to the news.

I'm so sorry for your boss! This man will surely get what he deserves, one way or another. I know if that had been my dog, I would insist that the "book" was thrown at him", or take my own measures!!

I am so very very sorry, just tragic my heart goes out to you and your boss :(

Oh dear. :( Tell your boss I'm so sorry to hear that news.
Angie asked me to pass on her thanks. She is now in the numb stage, before the real anger sets in. She is going to speak to the police again and then the SSPCA (We're in Scotland). The man was involved in more trouble at the weekend, so it looks like he may be off 'on his holidays' for a stretch.
