I have a 15-month old male rough collie who no longer comes back when he's called. He was fine until a couple of months ago but now he seems very easily distracted. He runs away when I can detect nothing to frighten or interest him. If we come across another dog he goes running off towards them and only returns if they don't interest him. He has never been particularly food motivated and will not come back for a toy. I have read that I should run in the opposite direction but don't feel I can if there is a road nearby, or, as today, 5 noisy greyhounds straining at the leash!
I'd be very grateful for any advice.
