to continue from my last message to you all,
i am wondering if i did the right thing by putting her in the crate? im sure i did .after 15 mins of calming down i gently talked to her and let her out, she was a little subdued either she was tired from the energy she had used or i had upset her by putting her in the crate, she loves her bed and this is never used as punishment so i do feel guilty even though i think i did the best thing at that moment. I am now thinking of getting a noise cd etc as i have heard this can be a good thing for nervous types although i do wonder if it could make it worse. Has anyone else used one ?
Another concern we have with megan is when we are out walking near our home on the roadside,a relitively quite area, every car /bike that passes she pulls at the lead and rears up if she is able to, and barks at them ,she would certainly chase after them if she had the chance ! she is alway kept on the lead if walking around where we live,we take her out everyday for walks over fields and off her lead etc. but we usually drive to that area as walking there would take too long and i would be so stressed up by trying to keep her from going at the cars etc she would meet along the way.
i see others walking their dogs along the street some without a lead and in total trust that the dog is safe, i wonder how they do it !
Please help .. i love megan so much i want her to be a happy dog and me a happy owner. I feel that i am always moaning about her ! she has many good points also, and is a good companion, she has brought alot of happiness to our home and hopefully we can sort out these problems.
i would also like to thank everyone who helped me with the last problem, all advice has been taken on board and is being used.

Why have you started a new topic for the continuation Jackie? You could just have replied to your original post :)

hi jackie,
i think its more to do with the noise than the food,is it possible that previously when she charged at you she could have heard the train then?
i think shes possibley guarding the food because shes scared of the noises shes hearing & its all grown from there.
if shes used too & happy in her crate i dont see any problem putting her into it,but maybe put a blanket over it,as this should calm her down . if you dont use the crate much then put her in when shes like this then it wont work in your favour as she will feel trapped by it. so it really depends how you usually useit.

tara is very noise sensitive,we have a noise CD,but basically didnt really work with her.but if you want & email me privately your home address i will post it to you.,for you to keep(if i can find it)

just out of interest,is she working /farm lines?
