Topic Dog Boards / General / Breeds you wish to own in your life?????
- By BullBoy [gb] Date 28.08.04 17:24 UTC
So in your lifetime which breeds do you wish to have owned, there will be some who will never change but i want to own many breeds in my lifetime, at the moment i have bull breeds, a staff, bulldog and french bulldog and will stick with this group of dogs ill my late 30's (im only 17 at the moment so a long wait but its worth it there sooo great) as they are my personnal faves, at one point in my life id love to own a Samoyed, Finnish Lappund, Keeshond, Boxer and Rottweiler, not all at once but these are some breeds i want to own at one time or another. When im old and grey i will go back to the very first dogs i ever had, Cavaliers, 1 in each colour i think.

hmm let me see
i always said i would love to own boarding kennels so if i fuffill my dream i will get to have one of each breed in the world if i am lucky for 2 weeks lol

i think no matter where i end up if i stay in ireland or emigrate to usa or something i will always have dobermann and american cockers but i also want bigger breeds like bmds and st bernards and irish wolfies and akitas etc and also i think i will have at least 8 dogs at anyone time and that will have to include a toy breed and a terrier lol

i am only 20 so i hope to have a long long and happy life with LOTS of DOGS lol

My next dog (when I loose Gemma, hopefully 7+ years in the future) I will probably get a full Rottie.
But breeds I want to own if I am ever able,
A Samoyed,
Neopolitan Mastif (but only grey)
Newfoundland.
Now think I need to save up for a huge house, with loads of land!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cant imagine my life without a boxer and seeing my eldest is eight and the youngest is just ten weeks today, so by the time i will be thinking of owning another dog age may of taken over lol

Can't see myself having anything other than the Elkhounds.  Have had various breeds to stay here, but definately not tempted, and some I thank god I don't own :D

Must admit never thought I'd have anything other than an elkie but Zara is one in a million.Would definately have another Shiba but as for something I've never owned before...would love something that would work for me more. Was raised with collies and I still love that willingness to please,so I would love to one day own an Aussie sheperd.

I will stick with Staffords. WHy change a winning formula the only exception may be a mongrel :)

Like Kazz I think I will always have staffys (well, I know I will) :) but would really love to be owned by a bull terrier in the future ;)

Archer, tell me, if you like a dog that works with you (eg collie) what on earth are you doing with Spitz :D
- By archer [gb] Date 29.08.04 17:29 UTC
Ahhhh I also like a challenge!! and my boys are definately that LOL.
I love their independance, their spirit and their sense of humour!!
Suppose I'd like at least one dog who would do things like 'play fetch' since I lost Arch....no hope with the elkies!!

Okay, since Tamino there will always be a Vallhund in my home. :)  But I would love to have:

a Newfoundland
a Border Collie
a Staffie
a Golden Retriever
a Doberman
a Rottweiler
a GSD
a Berger Blanc Suisse
a Australian Shepherd
a Australian Cattle Dog
a Bergamasco
a Cardigan Welsh Corgi (fluffy hair type)
a Great Dane
a Keeshond

Okay, I will probably never have all of these dogs, and certainly never all at once. Definitely a Rottie, GSD, Dobie, and Staffie will come into my life at some point. But I would like to own one of each at one time or another. :)

I have two Tibetans Terriers but also think that Border Collies are lovely and I would like to one of them one day!

Being over 40 when I got Morse, time is not on my side :) Gordon Setter, Border Terrier, retired Greyhound, German Shepherd - so misunderstood and so many in rescue. However my family also have aspirations to Staffies, Viszlas and working cockers so who knows?
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 29.08.04 14:29 UTC
Having never seen one before 14 years ago I never thought that I'd say this but I can't see me having anything other than a Spanish.  Yep there have been hard times but the good far outweighs them.  There's nothing like 5 SWD's climbing up on your knee at the same time and giving a sloppy kiss :d
- By theemx [gb] Date 30.08.04 01:21 UTC
Hmmm

Whilst im still in THIS house......

I want a saluki.

When i get my dream home......

I want an azawakh, affies, deerhounds........ etc.

I also have a soft spot for newfies, leos, bernese mountain dogs......

And samoyeds..... they were the first dogs i ever knew as a kid, i thought ALL dogs looked like samoyeds! They taught me to walk, dig holes, get messy, and ill DEFINATELY have one at some point!
