Hi all,
Recently my nanna died and i had to travel home for the 2 weeks to sort arrangements out with my family. My friend offered to take care of our youngest akita who was 10 wks at the time. When i returned i was mortified to find that he had bright yellow urine stains all on his belly, hocks and front legs. I have tried blue whitening shampoo and all sorts. Someone advised soap powder!! Can anyone give me some helpful tips to rid of these horrible stains. They are not as noticable now as he has been bathed a few times to try and get them out, however they are still visable.
Thanks Guys

Lemon juice in the final rinse is known to bleach/lighten hair - don't know about white hair tho, could be worth a try if you're desperate ;)

Bicarbonate of soda in solution is a good stain remover for white coats.
:)

how about fairy liquid that can help but the lemon juce sounds good

Other than the web link where can you buy Astonish stain remover?
I get it from our cash and carry but I think some supermarkets sell it. Also they have a website (click online store, then your country and it's in the fabric and laundry section :) )

Oxy-plus ISN'T for use on dogs....sorry I misread original post.
Kath.
how do you use it how much to water? i don,t really want solution to touch skin in case it causes a reaction
Big BIG apologies to everyone, I must have mis-read the original post and when I saw soap powder mentioned I thought you were talking of a white coat (as in made of fabric for humans).
It's brilliant for fabrics but please DON'T use Oxy-plus on your dogs!!!
Sorry for any confusion caused.
Kath.
We use peroxide 6% strength dilute with water in a spray bottle. Spray on leave for a few seconds then rinse out.
