My favourite show of the year :D
- By KateM Date 26.08.04 20:29 UTC
One of my favourites too - and certainly the only one where I don't feel I own the noisiest dogs!!

Oh you must come it is the only show in the year where all Spitz breeds and their owners can see and be seen by each other.

I showed under you Jackie :D  Any idea who this years judge is??
- By archer [gb] Date 28.08.04 16:08 UTC
Would love to know who the judge is too...and what date its on?
I'm keen to get a few more shows in if I can this year...pups only done 2 and he was too young for most of the shows I usually do.Have entered Mid co's and Driffield which I don't usually do but don't think I'll be able to do LKA which is a shame cos I really enjoyed it last year.

And you are still talking to me Brainless ;) Think I have given the date further up but I'll look again, not sure who our judge is though. Found it 27th November that is a Sat. the show is run by the Finnish Spitz club and it is good because you can have time to look at the less common members of the Spitz group, tell you what it is no more noisy than and other show which is surprising.

Must admit I fail to understand why some folk take their dogs placing so personally, think I did OK under you with Kizi, 2nds in good classes or some such.

If you are likely to get upset about your dog not doing well under a judge you know/are aquainted with thenit is best to only6 enter under all rounders :D

The best dogs will often change places have off days 9or just are not the ideal that the judge has in their minds eye when interpreting the standard.

Have to say Brainless once you start judging your concentration is such you are unaware of the handler and I never try to workout which dog is which, just go with what takes my eye at the time. Must admit that I did look in my judging file after your remark to see what I had done, and yes you had 2 2nds, one behind a bitch that I did not like as much the next time I judged her (think she was having an off day) and the other was very close according to my notes and the bitch that beat her I would never have placed viewed from the side of the ring, just shows really how misleading it can be to ringside judge.

Agree with you that there is no point getting upset if you are not placed as well as you might expect, that is if you expect anything, even after all the years I am still taken by surprised if I am called out first. In a breed as small as ours it would be difficult to show under people you do not know.  Have entered under people thinking that they would not like my dogs at all but just wanted to support them only to be surprised with a BOB, so you never know how people will react on that particular day.

By the way do you know who is judging at the Nordic?
- By archer [gb] Date 29.08.04 10:07 UTC
I think you can only get dissapointed if you expecting to do well.Although there are now a couple of judges on my 'wouldn't waste the entree money again ' I very rarely come away from a show feeling hard done by cos we always go expecting the worst.
Must agree with Jackie...have entered under judges expecting to just have a day out and have done well but have also entered under judges who I thought would like my type of dog and have done not so well.
Archer.

Nope but will be there if I get a lift :D
- By KateL [ch] Date 29.08.04 08:21 UTC
Ahhhh, not fair.  I can't take Tamino and show him off to all of you. :(

We are having a Nordic show over here in Switzerland too, only sometime in October.  It will be bliss to be there and not have everyone giving me manevolent looks cause my little Vallhund won't be quiet. :D
