hi i own a lovely westie she is just over 15 months old and we want to get her a companion do you think a basset hound will be a good companion as we have always wanted one but dont know if a basset and westie will mix our westie is very sociable and friendly and has alot of doggie friends including an alsation... deb:)

Bassets are sociable hounds but they are very heavy, if you think your westie can take a bouncy hound of such weight it should work well. As hounds they require a good deal of training particularly in the recall department. ;)
