My 9yr old Samoid cross has been suffering from uveitus in one eye for several months now.
The local vet referred us to the Centre for Small Animal Studies and he is being treated at present with steroid by mouth tablets. They seem to mask the symptoms but when we tried to wean him off them they returned almost immediately.
He has had a lymphnode biopsy which was negative and at the moment all we really know is that it seems his immune system is attacking the eye causing the uveitus.
Can anyone recommend what to try next or where to go for further exploration please? I hate to think that this is it now. The steroids have caused him to put on weight and make him rather "puffy/panty" too.
Thanks.
