If you like horror like Childs Play then The Village certainly won't appeal. Its a psychological thriller - not a gorefest. If you go looking for horror then you will be disappointed, but if you go with an open mind and sit back and enjoy you will be transfixed. There are some genuinely frightening moments though - one scene in the woods had gasps from the audience and a few pulses racing. Very clever :)

I saw this film about a month ago. I was really disappointed in it. I guess I didn't really like it because I was expecting too much out of it. I didn't really go with an open mind, like I should have. I had actually figured that it would be much scarier. But then again, at the same time I enjoyed it because it really does give your mind something to think about. I think I should see it again because some parts left me confused. So overall, even though it wasn't what I really expected, it was an alright movie. :)

I know it's only a 12A, but how scary is it?
I get terriefied really easily and end up thinking about films for hours and scaring myself to death!  I really want to go but don't want the embarrassment of hiding in the cinema :D

I'm the same, for that reason i can't bear most horror films. Managed Silence of the Lambs just about but still get pictures in my head of some of the murder victims especially the ones that were hung up on the ceiling. I much prefer stuff like Lord of the Rings and even films such as The Shawshank Redemption which was on recently and amazed me with how good it was.

I'd like to see The Village but will probably have to wait for it to come out on video :) The Sixth Sense was good.

Well, I'm braving it and going tonight!
Thing is in the cinema there's no cushion to hide behind so I just have to shut my eyes and pretend that I'm watching! :D
I'll let you know how scared I am Lindsay :)

Hate thrillers and gory movies for that matter.  Prefer more upfront fare.  Even like horror films of the vampire type.  Prefer a good adventure like Lord of the Rings Good triumphing over eveil, basically anthing escapist or comedies, as I don't want real life or the nasty bits of real life :D

I liked that two.  Now girls hasn't Will Smith beefed up nicely ????  Had my tongue hanging out in opening scenes :D
- By Rachel20 [gb] Date 26.08.04 07:57 UTC
OMG!  I was terrified!  Think I looked ridiculous hiding in the cinema, I physically jumed loads of times :)
And the twist is brilliant.  I loved it though, Lindsay be brave and go see it :D
- By Carla Date 26.08.04 16:51 UTC

- By Lindsay Date 26.08.04 16:52 UTC
