its rubbish dont believe that this happens.its like minded people who say staffys have lockjaw.

Think the expression mean that the head becomes the mature shape, which unless the dog is castrated will happen when the dog matures.

Age will depend upon what lines the dog is from and whether it is a slow maturer or not :rolleyes:

It doesnt literally split just grows

some will start geting wider at about 9 months and not stop until 2.5 years then again some will stop at about 18 months.
others will not start until they are about 18 months and stop when they are 3
it all depends what line your dog is from
