Of all the forums that I have been on and read, I find this to be the best, in as much as anyone can say what they like, within reason, and not get shot down in flames. On other sites, they are either very 'clicky', or down right rude if they don't like your opinion or you say what they don't want to hear. IE: don't agree with them! :)

It is nice to have some praise sometimes :)

We do try our best but unfortunately we can get a little passionate about our chosen breed sometimes. I know I've been guilty of jumping on people sometimes but I figure we are all entitled to get out of bed the wrong side occasionally. :)

Best wishes, John

I'd agree, especially for novices like me, there is lots of help on here, just be careful how you word your questions or you can end up licking your wounds ;).

It's a great forum, I've been a member for quite a while now on and off, also have the user name of SWDFORME when I'm at my parents house.  I've left a couple of times but soon come back :d

It's brilliant and everyones so helpful.

This forum would win my prize for the biggest time waster. :) not the fault of the members of the forum, of course, they should not be so interesting.

Not sure how long I have been a member but it was before this forum was this forum - some of you will know what I mean ;)

I don't know how long I have been here either. However it doesn't seem a  minute too long.

This is a diverse forum whose members hold vastly differing views on everything and anything. Which of course makes for fun and interesting debating at times. :)

And of course no quarter is given, or indeed expected, when you are talking about your chosen breed ;)

It is very addictive and I just have to look in at least once a day, I have learnt a lot and hopefully some have learnt from me, I think most of us try and be helpful and constructive in our postings.

I love CD... It has a strange addictiveness that means I absolutely have to come on every day and see whats been happening. I think its because there is a constant influx of new folk and new and interesting questions. I have learned a lot from here.
- By lucyandmeg [gb] Date 22.08.04 19:45 UTC
Med too, its so addictive. My computer has been away being checked since wednesday and it has been like going cold turkey! Thank god its back!

Good to hear praise!

How many can remember the furore when the format was due to change?      Or Sally Broomstick (whatever happened to her?)

MMM I remember that thought I would never get used to the new format and swore I would leave hahaha how long ago is that now :D Gillian
- By Lea Date 22.08.04 20:28 UTC
Has admin been editing the messages, ie putting member since on them????
I have been in member since before Nov '03 (know that as got Beano 1st nov 03, and know for deffinate I was a member before then!!!!)
I come on, stay a while, then things get hectic and end up only logging on every few days to check nothing exciting is going on, then go back to spending hours on here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But have also found this a freindly conference, and there is only a few times things have got heated, normally because of a troll, or a disgruntled contributor that did not like abiding by the rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember the old board (and the characters who have been lost along the way) - wasn't there long before it changed to this (although I left it a while logging in and now my dates show as a newbie)

It was through CD I found the oldest of my two - he is now 4 :D
- By Lady Dazzle [gb] Date 22.08.04 21:31 UTC
OMG Jo Thats a blast from the past I remember Sally Broomstick very well, had many a run in with her on the old forum. Apparently I've been a member since April 2001!!!!!

Even though I don't tend to post that often - I have found this site to be a mine of information :)

I've not been a member long, not sure when I joined maybe admin can enlighten, but totally agree that it is a wonderful forum. I've met some really nice people and had loads of good advice, and constructive advice from people with my breed. I've also learned alot about other breeds as well.

Long may it last!!

If you look at your own profile by clicking on your user name it will tell you the date you registered :D Gillian
- By ManxPat [im] Date 22.08.04 22:15 UTC
Thank you Gillian for that.
- By John [gb] Date 23.08.04 18:18 UTC
It appears you Gillian and Jayne (Lady Dazzle) changed from the old board to the new the same day I did! I must say it does not seem that long ago!

Best wishes, John

Wel I have been a meber since 13/8/01!!!  Can't beleive it, maybe that is why the housework has not been done properly for years!
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 22.08.04 22:15 UTC
I've just checked my profile - and guess when I registered -  two years ago today!!!  Yup - I've been "wasting" time on here for 2 years..... now then - how much more dust can accumulate in the next two years :D :D :D
- By dollface Date 22.08.04 22:33 UTC
Some times things can get heated, but in the long run we all get along :) or agree to disagree :)

Lol you should see the dust in my house, especially since we are renovating. Redoing our walls taking down the plaster and putting up jipboard (sp) Plus I hate dusting ;)

Gotta say.... yep, and i was pre-warned that this place could be harsh!

Considering i go to several dog forums, and am in fact BANNED from one (notably the one full of do gooders and hippies *no offence to either of those 'groups' i am BOTH)..... thats pretty good, looky, i been here since...... duh duh duuuuuuuuhhhhh

As a guest I found CD extremely helpfull....you hold a vast amount of knowledge between you all and the likes of myself are so grateful that you are willing to share it with the rest of us.   Thank you.
- By michelled [gb] Date 24.08.04 14:03 UTC
ive only been a member since

15/01/04

but i find it very addictive & helpfull too,
there are some very knowledgable people on here & ive learnt alot
i think its important to remeber though that NOT everybody knows everything, even if they are a expert in some fields, there are always new things to learn.
also that people that breed & show may have a diifernt outlook to "their" breed to mere pet owners, this does not mean that pet owners are wrong or to be talked down to.
opinions can be different, though in some instances this dosent mean that a opposing opinion has to be wrong.

what i dont like is that some people seem to analayse every single sentance & remeber it,to throw back in a later disscussion.
- By Kerioak Date 24.08.04 15:06 UTC
Like some of the others I remember Champdogs before it was in this format - and I feel it is generally much friendier now with the moderators keeping an eye on the discussions :D

I joined on 15.12.03 - just before Christmas!!

I love this forum - I like the fact that apart from the ocassional trolls (school holidays etc) that its a group of people from all walks of life, of differing ages who all talk together equally and share their experiences no matter how small.

We all have our love of dogs in common!!

Long live Champdogs!!!  :-D
- By michelled [gb] Date 24.08.04 15:52 UTC
yep! we should all remeber that!
we all love our dogs!!!!
- By John [gb] Date 24.08.04 17:15 UTC
I see you finally decided to move to this board the day before I did Christine. There was only about half a dozen of us posting on here at that time! Bit different to now!

Best wishes, John
- By Kerioak Date 24.08.04 17:35 UTC
Hi John

You did not realise I had been here so long did you :D

Receipe:
I wanted some chocolate the other night and did not have any so ~
Vanilla Ice Cream

- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 24.08.04 17:42 UTC
Ooh yes, I used to 'pop in' and lurk occasionally before the change, and it was far too scary for me!
- By John [gb] Date 24.08.04 18:02 UTC
Too scary! The old board even spawned another board, the "Bicker Board" where people could go to have a row!

I remembered you on the old board Christine but did not realise you were one of the few who beat me onto here. I must admit I dont think any of us really liked this board when it first started. I suppose we had all got use to the old one and even the colour of this one seemed wrong!

Best wishes, John
- By Lindsay Date 24.08.04 18:53 UTC
I didn't like the new board at all and now look back and wonder why! ;)
I agree about the colour and everything John! :D Seems i joined in April 2001 ... and yes, i remember Sally Broomstick too - where IS that girl now???!!! :D :)

Golly I can remember not liking the colour too!!  Can't remember the old colours though - not sure if it's a blonde moment or dementia!!
