Any advice please rosie my 8 month old westie has a rash on her belly, she keeps licking and trying to scratch it , what can i get to get rid of this , or will she have to visit the vets ??? thanks

Think it best you visit the vets, but in the mean time make sure you are using no chemicals on the floor, carpet or bedding and do not shampoo until you have ascertained the cause of this rash.

In addition to Jackies post - she hasnt walked in nettles in long grass or anything has she ?

Hi, I have an 8 year old Westie.  My vet has told me that Westies are very prone to skin irritations, so I would get your dog to the vet and they should be able to sort it out for you.  My Westie is always scratching.  We use a very good flea treatment but every opportunity she is scratching her back.  In fact 2 different vets have told me that Westies usually suffer easily from skin irritations.  Good Luck.

try putting sudacream on the rash and see if that helps.

It may be worth trying a homeopathic remedy / ointment. I use homeopet, Mark Hessey. email me back if you want the number...
