Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / Barking in the Morning

My male pup is now 10 months and still barks to get me up in the morning.  He starts barking and whining at different times before the alarm goes off.  I've tried to ignore him but it just doesn't work as he won't shut up.  My husband is up earlier than me and has already taken him out and fed and watered him, so he only has an hour to wait before I get up.  Can anyone recommend how I can train him out of doing this?

Not sure if this is the best advice but....I always figure I don't mind Leon (almost 8 month old GR) waking me up if he needs to pee but only for that reason. So if he barks in the morning (which I would like to add is now a rare occurrence) I get up, take him outside then bring him in after a couple of mins and go back upstairs. I don't speak to him or play at all. He soon figured this one out for himself. It's very important for me as I work shifts...need sleep when I say so! Mostly now, I wake him up.
