Yesterday Penny started wretching and brining up bile, I looked for an obstruction in her throat and found nothing, she has been sick all night. All other dogs and pups were ok. I telephoned my vet this morning and she thought it could be kennel cough, and was going to bring medication down to my house for me. Something happened and she has not arrived. Now all my dogs and pups are sort of gagging and wretching. I have telephoned the vet on call and he is going to leave drugs in the hidey hole we use but it will take him over and hour to get to the surgery and then I will have to go and get them. Is there anything I can do to make them feel a bit better in the mean time. There is no outward signs of illness and pups are playing but I also have one dog who is 7 weeks into whelp and she started coughing about an hour ago. I know the antibiotics are on there way and we have got it in the early stages but can someone give me any suggestions on how to cool their throats as it sounds really painfull, especially for Penny. I thought about buying a tub of ice cream.
I know the incubation period for KC is 5-7 days and the only way I can think of bringing it back home would be from the URC dog show in Malvern where I took the pups last Wednesday. So If anyone else was there with there dogs, Please look out for Kennel Cough.

Thanks Sarah, Am just going for the drugs now, and will nip into the petrol station on way home for the Benalyn. Would you believe that in 40+ years of owning dogs I have never had a bought of Kennel Cough.
