one of my girls will bleed for 20-23 days of her season..although by day 12 she is ready to mate but continues to bleed ....this happend last year and she produced 4 super puppies , i always see a season as 4 weeks just to be on the safe side i don't take her out until then ...another of mine only bleeds for 10 days or so but i still give it the full 28 days

thanks for your reply , thank goodness i asked on here i would have been thinking she was clear by this weekend, id better wait while the weekend after , i want to be sure...
I know all girls' seasons differ, so when Kieron was in season, I did not allow her out as normal until the swelling down below was back to complete normal. Even if it was still just a little bit swollen, she wasn't to go out by herself and I was always with her when we went for walks. In other words, she was never ever by herself until she was completely normal again. =) That way, I knew for absolute sure that she was done with her season. :)

Actu8ally that is probably the safest optiopn, assuming yu wait at least 3 weeks from first signs of season.

My girls last season, she wasn't fertile until day 20 and for another 3 days afterwards, she was also still bleeding at this time.

yeah I am - she has also bled right through her season and was standing from day 6 - a real nightmare . Before this her seasons were every 3/4 months. She has given us a super litter of 9 pups (born in February of this year so this is the first season after her litter. We were hoping to breed from her again within the next couple of years but I do think she has hormonal problems ( vet thinks so too) and rather than take a risk we will probably have her spayed - a real shame as she is a lovely show girl too.

my brie go 4 1/2 between her seasons, she to produced a litter of 9 2 years ago,but i do know that she can go back with the boys on day 21,
i was worried about her to coming into every 4 1/2 months so we run test on her all clear, which is nomal for her every 41/2,month then her mum 6months her half sister was 16 months when she first came in,my swd goes ever once a year.
