Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Sedgefield Show

Is anyone going to the open on Saturday? If so I would be grateful of any details, how easy is the showground to find and how far do we have to walk to the rings? Thanks

Hi emily rose, it is well signposted, and Sedgefield is just a little place!  The show fields is sort of just off a back lane bahind the main village suare/green.  Always police etc on duty to direct you in.  Parking is a different question - I havent got a car park pass this year, and think it is just the general car park anyway.  Not too far too walk though, and a very rouch field.  Also worth bearing in mind that the whole show field is on a bank!  Makes for interesting showing!

Sedgefield was our first show last year! The showfield will be signposted I would expect - look out for the petrol station (BP I think) and the showfield is just behind. Just follow the horse boxes! The dog rings were very small last year and the ground was very uneven - but we enjoyed it. The dog rings are right next to the main car park (on the highest part of the park) - so not much walking hopefully. Enjoy yourselves!

Thanks Gwen and Dexy, it's always the same at agricultural shows, well the ones we've been to so far, the ground is always uneven, very rough and either on a hill or at the top of it! Never mind it's all good practise, lets hope the weather clears up though-just got back from a walk where I wore a supposidly waterproof jacket but am sitting here wet through waiting for my bath to run!

I am digging out suitable wet weather clothes, just in case!  Just glad I am taking one of the Pugs not a Yankee, hate showing coated dogs in the wet!
bye
