i have a 6 year old daughter who acts like a 10 year old and a son who is 12 who acts like a 10 year old some times.
why is it the girls always act older than their years and the lads don't?
i am dreading it when he becomes a teen (dec) hubby keeps saying kevin is coming! HELP!!!
how can you tell when his voice as broke? he keeps going up and down but i don't know when its finally broke.
grandma thinks it has but he has been sqeaking for ages and can still change his voice.
out of both which are worse BOYS OR GIRLS?
mine is the lad but he does make a nice cuppa if asked :-)
i just wish you could see his bedroom floor a bit more often,he knows i am gonna say tidy your room, every day. i need a parrot to get on his nerves.

I'll let you know in a few years time, we have 3 girls 15 (going on 30!!) 13 and 11 and 1 boy who will be 9 at the end of the month........so far I think I prefer boys, but I'll let you know once he reaches the 'Kevin' years  :-)

Well now ...I have 5 sprogs aged 29, 28, 23, 13 and 11. Girl, boy, boy, girl, boy :D

On the whole, I would say girls are worst WHILST they are going through puberty but once they get out of it they are (generally) smashing. Boys are easier during puberty but it seems to go on until they are about 25!!!

:D

Hope that help ;) :p :p

My 14 year old daughter has turned into a woman today!!!!......Bless.....Mind she has been suffering PMT for the last 10 years lol..

I have three boys - just turned 11, 7 and 5.  Each one of them is lovely on their own, two are great together, but add the third and its nearly always chaos - argueing and fighting over things.  I think boys are very hard work, and others I know who have got more than 1 boy agree.  At a younger age my nieces were lovely, but now they are getting older - 13 and 10, I notice they are very moody - something I don't get with the boys (Yet!)

I have 7 boys age 26, 24, 22, 17, 12, 9 and 5 and 2 girls one aged 20 who is just becoming pleasent again and one who is 6 and thinks shes 26, girls are definatley more hard work than boys and they really put you through the ringer I can honestley say while I loved my oldest daughter very much I didnt like her for about 3 years she was a real nightmare but I get payback now she is a mother herself and hasnt had a good nights sleep in 9 weeks :-) oh what pleasure this wee man is giving us all, but to be fair she is now becoming a very nice young lady who I am very proud of. The boys are untidy and even stinky persuading a teenage boy he needs a bath can be hard but they never seem to give as much trouble as the girls who you cann't keep out the bath :-)

I have 3 boys aged 9 8 and 6 and like the other poster two are fine and add the third and its a nightmare any combination. I have one little girl who is 6 and she is a little doll but recently she seems to be getting really madamy! Turns on the tears for daddy and acts all pathetic to get her own way. Definitley a woman she was born knowing how to manipulate! Boys are simpler I think but are just generally hard work as have no sense! Unless its just my 3?!!!!

I have two beautiful daughters aged 13 and 10 - however, it is a nightmare espcially with the 13 year old. She knows everything, been everywhere, wants to chill all the time in the most shocking bedroom you've ever seen. She is moody beyond belief, and there are days when I think putting my head in the blender is a much better idea. I seem to have the chant of "clean your room". We don't have the loud music problem any more - I remedied that by putting it up so loud one day she could not stand it herself and begged to turn the volume down. Mobile phones and computers are a curse because if they are not on one they are on the other, everything I suggest is boring or stupid and I've lost the struggle to get the jeans and the tee shirt to meet . But she is a good girl underneath, and I think we will have a beautiful swan emerge from the cloud of hormones some day soon.

Now what wrong with us teenagers???? huh huh??? bex, fee, back me up girls!!!  We are perfect in everyway!

OK OK....so my rooms a mess (sometimes clean when boyfriend, and only when boyfriend, is coming round) and I can be a right.....at times, and I can get moody etc BUT I also iron, clean, cook the house etc, and look after dogs when parents go out for the day!

On the other hand my brother has a messy room permently, is always on the xbox, never cleans, and eats everything in the house.

Mum says....dogs are better!!!!

- By ice_queen Date 11.08.04 20:50 UTC
parents get love, affection, attention, kindness, gifts etc.......

Well when we want something.....lol

Acctully on a serious note I do know how much annoyance I have caused my parents at times, the amount of times I have got moody at my parents and grandparents etc and I must admit I am not proud of myself for the arguements!!!
- By marie [in] Date 11.08.04 21:27 UTC
thats all part of growing up. i don't think any of us parents haven't done it too in our younger years and im not saying how long ago either! lol
we try our best to guide and support you and understand its an age thing we have been there.
you think life as a tennager is hard wait till you become a parent. :-)
but we all humans too even if it doesn't seem that way at times and things your kids say do hurt us.
any how i still think lads are worse i will have to wait and see caitlin has another 7 years yet............help!!
- By marie [in] Date 11.08.04 21:28 UTC

- By SharonM Date 12.08.04 10:05 UTC
I'll back you up Marie, I've got 3 very hormonal girls, it's now that I feel sorry for my parents, I'm one of 4 girls!
- By marie [in] Date 12.08.04 11:16 UTC
i am one of two girls but we still put our parents through the ringer so to speak.
im the youngest and now they have 4 grand kids.
the other thing is are all dads the same? daddy's girl, angel, princess (cant do no wrong) even though they can be b******.
people say im lucky having 1 of each but to be honest i think it would be easier with the same, seems weird telling my son all about puberty and whats happening to him. lol
but he knows if he has any questions to ask, told hubby he can deal with caitlin when its time.....  :-)
not that i think he will.
my son is 12 and looks me in the eyes already, don't think i like it......lol  just have to stop feeding him i guess.

quote: my son is 12 and looks me in the eyes already, don't think i like it......lol  just have to stop feeding him i guess

Yep, I know that feeling too, my 15 year old is 5'7"  (I'm 5'2")  my 11 & 13 year olds are both 5'3"............I swear they've all been stood in a grow bag!

They've got the same size feet as me, so I've lost my Nike, Skechers trainers  :-(  oh well, not much longer and they'll all be bigger than me :-)
- By Melodysk [gb] Date 12.08.04 11:50 UTC
Sophie ....aged 13 is now 5'10 !! Another inch and she will be able to look ME in the eyes ARGHHH

(mind you 28 year old is 6'3 :D )
